Busy but broke? Get a free one-page profit snapshot of your salon.

Your booking software shows sales. It doesn't show which days and which stylists actually make you money once payroll is paid. Send us your booking export and we'll send back a free one-page snapshot of your profit by day and by stylist.

Fully booked, but nothing left at month end? The snapshot also flags where it leaks: idle paid hours, overstaffed slow days, and low $/hr services. Free, before you spend a cent.

How it works: 1) export your sales file (GlossGenius, Vagaro, Square, Phorest); 2) email it to [email protected]; 3) get your one-page snapshot back. The first salon to share a testimonial gets 3 months free.

Tangled Analytics shows you why the week happened and what to do next, built from real-world salon ownership experience.

Instead of spreadsheets and guesswork, you get actionable insights that help improve utilization, revenue per stylist, and profit.

The week, in one minute.

Your software shows the sales. It does not show the week. The weak hour, who was on the floor, the menu check, and profit after wages, for W-2 hourly and commission stylists.

Works with GlossGenius, Square, Phorest, etc. There is no live connection today: you export your sales file and upload it. The GlossGenius line-item checkout export and the Square Item Sales Detail CSV and the Phorest Sales Transactions CSV upload as they are (Phorest steps). From Vagaro, export the Transaction List to Excel, total it per day (and per stylist) in the daily summary format, save it as CSV, and upload that (Vagaro steps). Your wage costs and stylist hours take about ten minutes once. How to export and upload.

What you decide. What changes.

Decision → action → result

Booking software shows sales. Tangled shows which hours and which stylists leave profit after wages — so you can change the schedule, the menu, or the coach conversation with a number behind it.

Cut empty paid hours Decision

Stop paying for hours that never book. Match the floor to when tickets actually happen.

What you do

Open the weekday heat map next to who was on the floor. Shorten or drop the hours that sit under break-even week after week.

What changes

Example numbers: cut 8 empty paid hours a week at $22 loaded. About $176 more profit that week — same clients, fewer idle wages. Roughly $9,000 a year if it holds.

In the tool: peak hours, heat maps, and every hour against your break-even line.

Coach the right stylist Decision

Talk to the person whose revenue per labor hour is stuck under the floor — not the one who is already carrying the week.

What you do

Compare stylists side by side on production and revenue per labor hour. Bring one number into the 1:1, not a sales total that ignores hours paid.

What changes

Example numbers: one stylist lifts from $45 to $58 RPLH on the same hours. On 32 hours a week, that is about $416 more service dollars a week before pay share — and you know it is the person, not the day.

In the tool: revenue per stylist, RPLH vs break-even, service mix per person.

Fix the menu before you hire Decision

Raise or retire services that eat chair time for little money before you add another chair or another hire.

What you do

Sort services by dollars per booked hour, not by how often they sell. Price up the ones that fill the book; trim the ones that fill the day and empty the till.

What changes

Example numbers: a service at $48 per booked hour next to one at $95. Moving three hours a week from the low one to the high one is about $141 more that week — without a new hire.

In the tool: service performance ranked by dollars per booked hour.

The numbers behind those decisions.

Same screens. Clearer reason to open them.

Salon profit analytics for owners with employee stylists.

Not generic SaaS. Real salon intelligence, for salons with W-2 hourly or commission stylists.

Tangled Analytics was built by Ryan, a mechanical engineer who, with his wife Ashly, bought a salon. The booking software showed the sales, not whether the salon was healthy, so he put labor hours next to revenue and built the tool he needed to run it. Read that story here.

The platform was designed around actual operational challenges:

Every dashboard, KPI, and workflow exists because it solves a real problem encountered inside a salon.

Growth Plan

$59 / month

+ $15 / month for each additional salon location

7-day free trial for every new account, no card needed. Perfect for independent salons, growing teams, and multi-location owners.

Own more than one salon? Add every location to one account. Each salon keeps its own data, stylists, and costs, and you switch between them from your dashboard. Choose how many locations you have when you sign up, and add or remove locations any time. Your bill adjusts automatically.

Does it pay for itself?

Illustrative example (made-up numbers): one idle paid stylist-hour a week at $20/hr is about $87 a month in wages (1 hr × $20 × 52 weeks ÷ 12). That alone is more than the $59 plan. Most salons find more than one such hour.
